Saturday Links

Sarah Styles-Bessey (aka Emerging Mummy) wrote a great piece this week about marriage is and is not. My wedding anniversary was this week, so this meant a lot to me.

Rachel Held Evans took one for the team this week and reviewed Mark Driscoll’s new marriage book. I had the chance to review it and just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I didn’t think it would be good for my attitude. But Rachel’s post definitely was.

This beautiful piece from Ashleigh Baker is from last year, but I just read it for the first time this week. Wow.

Shawn Smucker wrote about a topic close to my heart – how gender specific toys can limit our children, especially girls.

Anne Jackson, a woman brokenness and honesty has been freeing to so many of us, is stepping away from blogging for the indefinite future. Her farewell post was touching and gorgeous.

I only posted twice this week here on the Screaming Kettle blog, but I’ll get back to a normal posting schedule next week. My favorite post was Decade, in which I high fived the missus regarding our first ten years of marriage.

I’ve been following you ever since I saw your last guest post on Rachel Held Evan’s blog. I LOVE your writing and more importantly, the content you write about rings so true with me. I was thrilled to find out you are from my home county. I graduated from Versailles in 1997. I spent many hours at a dance studio in downtown Greenville. Small world. I currently live in Michigan. You, Sarah @Emerging Mummy and Rachel are my favorite bloggers! Looking forward to your next post…
